About USA Islamic Fashion Week
Picture

USA Islamic Fashion Week is an event that will provide a platform to American-based Muslim designers, raising their national and international profile, and catapult them and their industry counterparts into successful fashion entrepreneurship.  USA Islamic Fashion Week along with its founding organization, Modesty Defines Islamic Fashion Council of America, LLC, claim Islam as a way of life in the local fashion arena, and bridge the gap between modest and Islamic fashion.

In this, its inaugural year, USA Islamic Fashion Week, DMW will converge in the Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia areas, DMV, for a four day fashion-filled event which will bring together designers from across the nation.  They will display their creative works on traditional runway shows and other fashion presentations at multiple locations throughout the DMV.  Complimenting the fashion display, we have an amazing line up of industry training and development sessions, light entertainment, and an abundance of networking opportunities.

Members of Modesty Defined Islamic Fashion Council of America, LLC include emerging and established fashion industry professionals.  MDIFC membership is open to new applicants who meet its qualifications, the terms of which are detailed on the Membership page of our website.  Among the many benefits membership in MDIFC include participation in two seasons of U.S.A. Business and Educational Seminars

MDIFC organizes educational and promotional events geared towards the American-based Muslim fashion community.  Members are kept informed of the constantly changing and fast paced concepts associated with the business side of fashion.  Education on the legal aspects, networking and business opportunities within the industry are also provided.

MDIFC maintains business alliances and is committed to applying those relationships to nurture the development of its members.  Using the components of education, business development, mentoring, and networking, MDIFC coordinates initiatives aimed at helping its members flourish in the market.

MDIFC has organized many beneficial seminars for its members.  These initiatives and educational seminars covered topics in many areas such as; understanding the business of fashion design; apparel and intellectual law; brand marketing; buyer relations; retail and fashion trends; working with showrooms and stores; the basics of fashion construction; and the basics of fashion designing and textile theories.  MDIFC continues to explore educational initiatives in order to further the development of its members.

Designer Promotion

In an effort to help American–based Muslim Designers gain a broader exposure, MDIFC organizes and will host major bi-annual productions.  These productions are the U.S.A. Islamic Fashion Week, DMV in February and U.S.A.
